Corporate Social Responsibility
An important part of being in business is to improve the lives of the people around us and to take good care of the place we call home.
At PRM we’re committed to doing our part. We give back by supporting local charities, by taking steps to reduce our impact on the environment, by making a difference in our local community, by playing a role in promoting education, and by creating meaningful partnerships that support the industry and people we work with.

Supporting Charity
Throughout our 35 years in business we have partnered with many local charities to help them raise vital funds. We do this by selecting an annual charity partner, then by organising and attending a wide range of fundraising initiatives such as; sponsored walks, runs and abseils, dragon boat races, raffles, bake off competitions and super car events.
Our employees help us choose our annual charity partner by putting forward local charities that mean something to them. Previous partners include; Cancer Fund For Children, Air Ambulance NI, Lisburn Rotary, Cash For Kids and Angel Wishes.

Our Environment
Taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint has become a vital component of how we do business. To date we have switched our energy contract to 100% renewable energy, introduced electric company cars and charging points, upgraded to a new and more energy efficient refrigeration system using 30% less electricity, installed LED lighting across our sites, and introduced card and plastic bailers allowing us to segregate and recycle all card and plastic waste generated in our warehouse.
Operating in the FMCG industry, there can be huge amounts of food wastage. To help combat this and reduce the amount that goes to landfill, we have partnered with local Food banks to donate any surplus food so it can go to those who need it.

Our Community
As a family run business we take pride in making a difference in our local community that we live and work in. From supporting local sports teams, to providing aid for local groups, we are committed to playing our part.
We also partner with relevant industry organisations to promote and support the industry that we operate in. Working in partnership with GroceryAid and the Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (IGBF) helps provide a great support network for anyone who works within the retail and grocery sector.

Education
We are passionate about our roots and recognise that local businesses throughout Ireland need to play a role in shaping our young future business leaders. At PRM Group we have developed strong links with local schools and businesses, offering work experience for students from 16+ and by partnering with Young Enterprise.
In addition to this, PRM Group partners with Ulster University as a Placement Employer. We work with Ulster University to give students an insight into our industry and the experience they need to build successful careers upon completion of their studies.
