Rt Hon Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, today (Wednesday, May 14) visited Lisburn-based PRM Group to mark the company’s substantial £15 million investment and job creation plans, a move the company credits in part to the unique benefits unlocked by the Windsor Framework.

The Secretary of State was welcomed by PRM Group’s Founder and CEO, Philip Morrow, and Company Director, Lynne Morrow, along with members of the executive and senior management team. During the visit, he was given a full tour of the company’s headquarters and warehousing facilities on Moira Road, followed by a presentation outlining PRM’s strategy for the future, its commitment to innovation, and the growth delivered under the Windsor Framework.

The visit comes as PRM embarks on a significant expansion that will see the creation of over 40 new jobs, the development of a new purpose-built facility, and the integration of advanced logistics technology. Already a major player in food distribution across Ireland, Great Britain and Europe, PRM’s growth trajectory is firmly rooted in its dual-market access and post-Brexit adaptability.

Philip Morrow, CEO and Founder of PRM Group, said:

“While Brexit brought with it understandable apprehension, there’s no doubt that the Windsor Framework has unlocked unique advantages for businesses and individuals in Northern Ireland. We have found ourselves in a very favourable position perfectly positioned between the UK and EU with full access to both markets. That’s an enviable place to be, and it’s been instrumental in shaping our investment decisions and future growth. At PRM, it’s allowed us to commit £15 million to expanding our Lisburn headquarters and create over 40 new jobs. Businesses here have been handed the key to the best of both worlds and that’s something we should champion, celebrate and capitalise on.”

Speaking after his visit, the Secretary of State, Hilary Benn, said: “PRM’s expansion is a great example of how dual market access is helping Northern Ireland’s businesses to expand and create more jobs.

“With full access to both the UK and EU markets, and now new trade opportunities with the US and India, Northern Ireland is uniquely placed for success.

“These are tangible benefits that are strengthening Northern Ireland’s economy and creating prosperity.”

Operating for over 35 years, PRM is a family-owned company and one of the region’s largest chilled and frozen food distributors. It delivers over 300,000 cases weekly to major retailers including Tesco, M&S, Dunnes and Musgrave. It represents global brands such as Muller, Ferrero, Fage, Nomadic and Biotiful.

PRM’s new development will complement its existing Lisburn facility and other locations in Dublin, Derry and Dromore. As part of the investment, the business is rolling out a Warehouse Management System from Blue Yonder, becoming one of the first globally to implement the latest version of the technology. This allows the business access to best-in-class accuracy, traceability and scalability.

Its expansion marks a key moment for the company, reflecting not only its resilience in navigating Brexit but also its ability to turn challenge into competitive advantage. By establishing a dedicated Brexit team and maintaining streamlined customs procedures, PRM positioned itself as a crucial logistics partner for brands needing reliable all-Ireland and GB–EU market coverage.

The company’s growth aligns with the UK Government’s wider Plan for Change in Northern Ireland, which seeks to drive economic progress through expanded trade, reduced red tape and greater innovation.
