PRM has been named Logistics and Warehousing Specialist of the Year (Chilled) and Food Distribution Company of the Year at the annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards 2024!
Colin Davis, Logistics Manager, was presented with both awards at a glittering ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in South Belfast which was attended by around 600 guests from all sectors of the transport and logistics industry and compered by the BBC’s Mark Simpson.
Organised by the Hillsborough based publishers of Export & Freight Magazine, 4SM (NI) Ltd, the event, which was first staged way back in 2001, is Ireland’s premier platform of recognition for those operating in the transport and logistics sector; it celebrates and rewards the very best in an industry that continues to meet its challenges head-on with resilience and perseverance.
For more than 35 years, PRM has been at the forefront of Ireland’s food industry and has been able to celebrate many successes and milestones throughout that time. Founded by Philip and Lynne Morrow, the company has grown from strength to strength by identifying opportunity, embracing change and developing long lasting relationships.
PRM Group has 55,000 square feet of warehouse space in Lisburn plus plans for an additional 100,000 square feet in development – with a fleet of 50 plus vehicles on the road. PRM Group provides an economical route to market for brands in Ireland – taking ownership of product at factory gate, and transporting to PRM distribution hub where break bulk and hold stock in market.
The judges said PRM excelled in every aspect of the competition. ‘They have a clear strategy for the short, medium and long –term across each business function, and are actively pursuing new customers as they grow their business.’
Over the past two years, PRM has brought over 10 new suppliers into its brand portfolio and has established trading arrangements with 2 additional retailers in Ireland as part of their respective strategies for continuity of supply in response to Brexit.
The company has also acquired an additional site at Moria road, Lisburn to begin the development of a new facility in line with increased demand for its services and its strategic ambition to further grow in the business. This includes over 100,000 sq ft of additional warehouse facilities, additional trailer parking, new office premises, a workshop and refueling area.
